Shuttleworks Singles League
Welcome to the Shuttleworks Singles League.
This is not a new concept, but it is certainly a more exciting embodyment of what came before. We have tried to keep this simple but the main jist of things are highlighted in the above links, we hope the titles are self explanitory and things flow from our old site which served us well for 4 months in early 2009.
- Rules - They tell you what you can get away with
- Booking Courts - You can book courts anywhere, this will help you choose
- Leagues - The main nitty gritty, where you are and who you are playing
- Venues - A list of venues that you may want to use
- Helpers - We do have some assistance, this page is devoted to them
- Contact us - well we don't bite so feel free to mail if you want to join in
The game of singles was thought to be dead in Scotland for the most part but we think since the inception of the modern Singles League in April 2009 we as a group have proved otherwise.
Put simply the league was devised to be a continuation of the already existing Shuttleworks coaching group to enable the kids from the club a route into adult badminton, the league caters for everyone and anyone from ranked internationals to casual players picking up rackets for the first time. No matter your level there is at least one group of like ability players and as you progress upwards the challenge increases.
Shuttleworks is the work of ONE individual; Bob Ullah. We just happen to agree with him that no matter who you are or what you do the sport deserves a bit of effort and the more you put in to develop something the more it will grow. Shuttleworks is nothing more than a pathway to open up the sport to anyone, no hidden agenda
Changes
The main changes to the site were to have it moved onto a proper hosting platform to allow for future development (hopefully more of it coming soon) and also so we could allow the use of downloadable documents. If you have a look at the links just under the bottom main site navigation links, they will open up a copy of the documentation that you will read on site, you can download and print it out on a nice friendly format (PDF), if required. Changes will be made and we will be able to update you properly in real time with changes making their way onto the site for you to view.
The last counter was stopped at just over 5000
Well it had to go! But where?
Possibly here?
